Three fit problems for service businesses
1. The pricing is USD plus a meter
Zaapi’s plans run USD 79 to 179 monthly (about RM335 to RM760), and the AI is billed separately at USD 40 per 1,000 AI messages. The meter means a month where the AI answers 2,000 chats costs about RM340 extra, on top of the plan. It literally costs more the better it works. A Malaysian SME budget wants a flat RM number.
2. No real appointment booking
Service businesses live on bookings. Zaapi’s AI can chat about scheduling, but there is no booking engine behind it: no real open slots, no double-booking protection, no owner approval. You still do the calendar dance manually.
3. The AI cannot see
Zaapi’s own documentation states its AI does not support PDF uploads and does not use images. In service trades, photos are half the enquiry: “my unit looks like this”, “here’s my floor plan”. An AI that cannot look at them answers with a question instead of an answer.
